Strawberry Vanilla Jam

We are happy to introduce a recipe for jam that is both delicious and easy to make. Little tips like adding a little bit of butter to reduce the foam at the end is just a refreshing bonus to this recipe. As always, we are sharing a recipe that I (a 30+ year old male) can replicate without too much trouble. A big thanks to Ms. Synnove who can be found on here on Facebook.

Time : n/a (24 hours + if taking cooling time into account)

Ingredients : Makes about 9 jarsStrawberry vanilla jam main

  • 7 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 cups of crushed strawberries
  • 4 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 package regular powdered pectin
  • 2 vanilla beans
  • 1/2 tsp butter

Directions : 

  1. Crush strawberries
  2. Add 1 package regular powdered pectin
  3. Add lemon juice
  4. Split vanilla beans lengthwise and add into the crushed strawberries
  5. Add butter when warm (this helps with reducing foam in the end)
  6. Bring crushed strawberries to a hard boil
  7. Add sugar
  8. Bring to a hard boil again
  9. Remove as much foam as you can
  10. Put in jar
  11. Clean jar top with cloth soaked with vinegar
  12. Seal and boil jars
  13. Wait 24 hours and Label
